Twenty-five years ago at a meditation/spiritual gathering, a young man raised his hand to ask a question. His question is shared by virtually everyone who has opened their heart and spirit to another seeking help. His question, “Where do we set the boundary between compassion and honesty?” A collective sigh could be heard as he finished his question, reflecting the synergy of feelings as most attending this meeting were healers and counselors who are faced with this challenge daily.
I write to you this week with both compassion and honesty. When I was elected to the board last year, I accepted the position with the knowledge that I would donate many hours to this wonderful organization and share from both the teachings of A.R.E. and my personal experience. I know that there is a thirst for this, for spiritual learning and connection, and have chosen to work to that end.
In all honesty, I thought that the “business” of this process was self-sustaining, and that sufficient donations were coming in to support the work of this not for profit organization. I am grateful to those of you who regularly donate and give what you can. The truth is that to move forward, including expanding our offerings and finding possible in-person meeting venues, we need more of you to donate.
Our Spring Fundraising Drive continues and as I have shared, I will draw the names of three donors and gift them with personalized 15 minute meditation recordings. But for our mission to continue, we need as many of you as possible to give what you can. Please use this link for your tax deductible Spring Drive contributions.
