big benWhat is the most powerful force we can align with for healing for ourselves and the world?

These are challenging times for all of us on this small planet.

We are watching the death of innocents as one nation brutally invades another–something we did not expect to see in 2022.

We’re still coping with a global pandemic. And in the U.S and many other nations, we have been polarized against one another politically. In the U.S., our population is more polarized than it has been at any time since the Civil War.

In the midst of a global pandemic and a time when our nation is more polarized than at any time since the Civil War – it’s more important than ever to call on the Spirit to work in and through us and through our nation. When we do this collectively, we increase the power of this act.

How can we live up to the challenges we are being offered and change the world for the better?

On the material level, we can and should be activist in a variety of ways–but we also need to gather and activate our spiritual forces–because this is a watershed moment that may alter the course of life on this planet for better or for worse.

British Spiritual Healer Malcolm Smith first told me about the SILENT MINUTE that was observed each night in the UK during WW II–when it looked like the U.K. could be overrun and occupied by the Nazis.

Many Britons, he said, credited the winning of WWII to the Silent Minute.

Each night, at 9 pm, folks in the U.K. observed a minute of silence for meditation, prayer, a ritual or whatever each individual believed in–for freedom and a just peace.

For those who lived in London, the Silent Minute was observed during the 9 pm chiming of Big Ben. For others outside London, the ringing of Big Ben was broadcast by the BBC.

“An anecdote emphasizes the profound power of the group meditation of the Silent Minute. In 1945 a British intelligence officer was interrogating a high Nazi official. He asked him why he thought Germany lost the war. His reply was, “During the war, you had a secret weapon for which we could find no counter measure, which we did not understand, but it was very powerful. It was associated with the striking of the Big Ben each evening. I believe you called it the ‘Silent Minute.’” (Wikipedia. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Minute)

We don’t have Big Ben to remind us, but a growing group of Americans and others throughout the world have been observing the Silent Minute since July, 2018.

Not only people all over the U.S., but (based on those who’ve joined the Silent Minute FB group) people in ~ Australia, Austria, Canada, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ghana, Honduras, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, the U.K. (both England and Scotland) and Zanzibar are now keeping the Silent Minute with people from all over the U.S.

Since July, 2018, we have been sharing an intention for *Justice, Peace and the Highest Good* for the U.S. and the world.

When the pandemic began, we added Healing to our focus — so we now share an intention for *Justice, Peace, Healing and the Highest Good* for the world. This doesn’t have to be only physical healing. We can see that the world also needs healing on mental. emotional, spiritual and attitudinal levels.

How do you keep the Silent Minute?

The UK is all one time zone, but we have several, so:

  • On the East Coast, we observe the Silent Minute at 9 pm
  • In Central Time: 8 pm
  • Mountain Time: 7 pm
  • Pacific Time: 6 pm
  • Hawaiian Time: 3 pm
  • U.K.: 2 am. (A challenging but excellent time for meditation and prayer.)

If you can’t do it at that time, pick a time that works for you.

FOR THOSE INCLINED TO DO THIS, IT IS A COMMITMENT.

We make every effort to observe the Silent Minute every night–with prayer, meditation, ritual or just your personal intention– for *Justice, Peace, Healing and the Highest Good* for our own nation and the world.

We suggest avoiding anything partisan in this effort.. Just focus on *Justice, Peace, Healing and the Highest Good*. God or Spirit (or whatever name you use) knows how to bring that about better than any of us.

It’s important to be consistent. BUT we’re all human–so if you miss it or forget and then remember later, do your Silent Minute when you remember, if possible.

And if you miss a night –or several nights–don’t beat yourself up about it. Just get back into the flow as soon as you can.

When observing your Silent Minute, it helps to be aware of all the others doing it too–and join your intention with theirs.

There is also a Silent Minute FB group. Joining is completely optional, but since we’re trying to raise consciousness and create an energy field of positive spiritual energy, it seemed it might be helpful to share with one another from time to time. It’s here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheSilentMinute/

This would be a good time to intensify the Silent Minute effort and expand it to more people all over the world.

Please SHARE this idea with those you think would be interested. Thank you!

Light & Love to All.
