Since Christmas, we’ve focused these e-newsletters on Cayce’s definition of the Christ Consciousness or Oneness-with-God Consciousness—and how Jesus demonstrated that consciousness.
Christian theology holds that Jesus was the Son of God and WAS God in human form.
The Cayce readings do not differ from that, but what the readings make clear is that Jesus was NOT a different kind of being than we are. We are ALL children of the Most High. ALL of our souls are sparks of the Divine flame.
The readings often use the term “the Elder Brother” for Jesus. What does that mean?
I was the younger of two siblings. I remember from early childhood that there were things my older sister could do, that I could not do. There were things she knew and understood that I did not yet know. At the time, I didn’t understand that I could not do things my sister could do because I was younger and less developed—but as I matured, I was able to do what she did. That is what is meant by “the Elder Brother.”
As we grow and develop spiritually, we are intended to grow in that Oneness-with-God Consciousness until we, too, embody that consciousness as Jesus did. To some, this may sound blasphemous—but Jesus himself said this.
Jesus was accused of blasphemy for saying “I and the Father are one.” When his accusers were about to stone him, Jesus said “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are gods’?” (John 10:34) Jesus was quoting Psalm 82:
“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the Most High.”
John Van Auken uses the term “godlings” to describe our current state—not yet arrived, but growing toward Christ Consciousness.
We look forward to sharing the journey with you!
Speaking of the journey, our in-person Dream Study Group will have its next meeting on SATURDAY JAN. 13, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.
