In last week’s e-newsletter, we began a discussion of Spring inner-cleaning with the Cayce Apple Diet.
What are some of Cayce’s other recommendations for internal cleansing?
The A.R.E. Health Center and Spa in Virginia Beach offers something called a Cayce Cleanse. It consists of:
- An abdominal castor oil pack
- Foot reflexology
- Colon hydrotherapy (colonic)
- A steam/fume bath
- A massage/facial
While these services may not be available in one package in NYC, they are all available at venues in the City.
You can also do castor oil packs for yourself at home. Directions for making and using a castor oil pack are here: edgarcayce.org/resources/holistic-health-database/therapies/castor-oil-packs
You may not think of foot reflexology or a massage as “cleansing,” but both help to stimulate the body to remove toxins. Massage helps to move lymph through your body—and the lymphatic system is an important part of your body’s defense and self-cleansing system. Foot reflexology and massage are both also extremely pleasurable.
If you’ve never had a colonic or want to know more about them, the national A.R.E. has a webpage about them here: edgarcayce.org/resources/holistic-health-database/therapies/hydrotherapy/colonic-irrigation. Cayce recommended that most people have a colonic four times a year, at each of the seasons.
“Steam/fume baths” are steam baths with essential oils added to the heated water, to add an element of aromatherapy (and pleasure) to the cleansing experience. Steam baths increase elimination of toxins through the skin and lungs.
“For indeed the body is the temple of the living God.” (Edgar Cayce Reading 69-4) Inner cleansing is as important as cleansing the outside of the body, and Spring is a perfect time for a fresh start!
