Most of us are familiar with the story of Moses receiving “The Ten Commandments.” Fewer are aware of the fact that there are 613 Commandments in the Hebrew Bible. I had a wonderful spiritual teacher who used to say that the 11th Commandment should be, “Thou Shalt Have Purpose.” We have many purposes throughout our lives and these change at different stages of life. I am grateful that in my “golden years” I have multiple purposes including volunteer service to this wonderful organization. I’m a member of the Board of Directors, I write these weekly E-blasts, I work on the program team, and I offer the Tuesday Evening Relaxation and Exploration sessions. These purposes are a gift of spirit as reflected in the opening quote I shared from Edgar Cayce’s reading 7-1. But as we live in a “material world,” there are expenses that must be met and raising funds for this organization is always a challenge.
We are on the final week of our Spring Fundraising Drive and next week, I will draw the names of three donors at random and record 15 minute custom guided meditations for their aspirations and needs. I feel so blessed to have a voice that many find relaxing and healing and offer it in this way. Please use this link for your tax deductible Spring Drive contributions and a chance to receive one of these meditations.
