Tarot Certification Program 2022 – 2023

A tarot deck can be overwhelming—78 cards with curious images—but what are the messages the images portray? This comprehensive course will remove the mystery from the tarot by breaking the deck and the reading process down into easily digestible pieces.
You will hit the ground running and start interpreting the cards intuitively on your very first weekend. With each session, you’ll learn about a new aspect of card reading that will help your intuitive reading skills grow. As you move through the program, you will progress through exploring symbols, spreads, positions, pairs, questions, reading styles, and much, much more.
By the end of the program, your readings will be more articulate and relaxed. No more stressing about guessing at card meanings or being confused by the images on the cards. You will perform tarot readings with ease and expertise.
The course is presented in two parts. Part One, Taking the Mystery Out of the Tarot, will give you an in-depth look at the tarot deck, the function of each card group, a close look at the symbolism that runs through the cards, and an introduction to the versatility in the Celtic Cross spread.
Part Two, Path to Deeper Understanding, takes you deeper into symbols and interpretation, and gives you an understanding of positions, pairs, and reversals, along with some custom spreads and special touches to add to your tarot readings.
The final step for those who wish to be certified is the testing package. This package gives the testing student three practice clients for case studies, one-on-one coaching, reading evaluations, tips to improve your reading style, and more.
Part One – Taking the Mystery Out of the Tarot

Weekend 1 – October 8 & 9, 2022

BEGINNING THE JOURNEY In our first weekend, we will be breaking the tarot deck down by function and tackling the 22 most mysterious cards—the Major Arcana. We will learn about:
- subgroups of the tarot deck
- setting up a reading space
- reading the cards intuitively
- the 22 cards of the Major Arcana
- the daily card draw

THE FOUR SPHERES OF THE MINOR ARCAN
In this weekend, we will learn about the four suits of the tarot deck and the energy they carry. We’ll be introduced to the people of the tarot—the Court Cards. We will examine:
- the attributes of the four tarot suits
- Pip Cards (cards numbered 1 – 10) for each suit
- Court Cards
- a simple card spread
- intuitive reading exercises

THE TAROT READING
In our third weekend, we will break down the most universally used card spread—the Celtic Cross. We’ll also address other areas and issues involved with giving a tarot reading. We will learn:
- the sections of the Celtic Cross
- how to structure a question
- reading for yourself and others
- giving a general reading
- answering a question

SPENDING TIME WITH THE TAROT COURT
The tarot court cards can be the most difficult to grasp, since in a reading they can represent you, some aspect of yourself, a role or action—or they can also represent another person. During this weekend we will:
- look more deeply into the tarot court
- learn about the personalities the court cards represent
- learn about other court card associations

SYMBOLS OF THE TAROT
The tarot deck is rich with symbols. In this weekend we will be exploring the visual imagery used in the tarot and learning to work with color. We will cover:
- colors used in the deck
- symbols and images
- numbers and their energy
- astrological associations

UNDERSTANDING THE SUBCONSCIOUS
The subconscious mind works in metaphor, and words can be triggers that unlock a whole new world of meaning for a single card. In this weekend we will be moving more deeply into card meanings through:
- learning more about the subconscious mind
- creating card associations to expand the meaning
- examining memories and metaphors
Part Two – Path to Deeper Understanding

WORKING WITH ELEMENTS
Previously, we learned that each tarot suit is associated with an element. In this weekend we will explore how elements interact to affect a card’s meaning. We will discuss:
- elemental association with tarot suits
- elements that strengthen each other
- elements that weaken each other
Weekend 8 – June 10 & 11, 2023

REVERSALS AND CARD PAIRS
Reading reversed or only upright cards is a choice you make as a reader. We will look at both styles and learn some options for interpreting cards that are reversed. We’ll also explore card pairs. We will discuss:
- reading reversals vs. upright cards
- possible meanings for reversed cards
- permanent and occasional card pairs
Weekend 9 – July 15 & 16, 2023

TAROT SPREADS
Depending on the focus of the reading, tarot cards can be read in a number of different spreads and styles. This weekend we will learn:
- question-specific layouts and spreads
- specialty spreads
- different approaches to reading a chosen layout

ADD SOME SPICE TO YOUR TAROT READING
If you want to stand out as a tarot reader, it’s a good idea to add something special to your tarot reading. In this weekend we’ll discuss some ways that you can make your reading stand out by adding an extra touch. We will discuss:
- special cards for your soul journey
- adding oracle or angel cards to your reading
- a few more specialty spreads

Work-related questions are among the most popular with those who seek tarot readings. This weekend we’ll be focusing on the use of tarot to:

- explore the type of work the client is best suited for

STUDENT CHOICE AND PRACTICE READINGS
In our final weekend, the class will have an opportunity to choose topics to study or review. We will also practice verbal fluency using tag readings and “round robin” readings.

You will receive 100 hours of live virtual classroom training, plus additional reading exchange practice sessions. Each weekend will provide a wealth of information about a certain aspect or type of tarot reading, as well as an abundance of exercises that will allow you to put your newly learned skills into practice.

Lin Kay Hunter, Instructor
Lin has studied psychic development, mediumship, trance and healing in the US and the UK. She is the founder and director of The School for Psychic Studies in Western Massachusetts where she combines her background as an award-winning corporate trainer with her life-long interest in the supernatural to create and teach comprehensive classes in a variety of spiritual and metaphysical topics.
In 1990, her precognitive vision of a homicide scene drew Lin to explore the field of psychic investigation. In 2010, she became certified in forensic psychic investigation.
