We've just signed a short-term lease extension to remain in our current space for several months. Starting May 1st, we'll be paying about 50% more in rent—yet it's still significantly below current market rates for our Chelsea neighborhood where commercial real estate prices have risen dramatically.

The search continues…. For the past few months, we've been exploring spaces in midtown Manhattan guided by Board Members Anton Baraschi and Lucas Boladian with help from knowledgeable real estate professionals. So far, we've reviewed dozens of spaces and put in bids on a few spaces that we were very excited about, only to have them rejected for various reasons.

We believe it's because the universe has something even better for us. With each bid, we've learned something that will bring us closer and closer to the perfect space—to the Center of Our Dreams!

With your help, we can manifest miracles to keep our Center of enlightenment thriving and growing. Things are happening fast! Check this weekly e-newsletter and our website for updates on our space quest and go to “Make A Donation” for ways you can contribute, including our 8-minute Visioning Statement meditation.

Meanwhile, due to rising costs, we have made modest increases in the cost of many events. Compared to other holistic fairs, workshops and classes, our events are still accessibly priced, and Center Members save 15% on most.

kristan roehrsYou might have already met Kristan in her role as our Center’s Saturday Reception Volunteer. Her outstanding service over the past several months has given her an insider’s view of Center operations. Add to that her impressive education and experience in Non-profit Management, and you can see why we’re delighted that she’s our new Bookkeeper—while continuing to volunteer at Reception.

A Pennsylvania native, Kristan has loved living and working in New York for two years. She recently completed her work with an International Personal and Professional Growth and Development Company, Landmark Worldwide, where she was the Administration and Finance Manager in their Wisdom Division, based here in NYC. She has an avid interest in anything that supports human growth and development and has a particular passion for all things spiritual.

She earned a Masters Degree in Non-profit Management, is a Reiki Master in both Usui and Shamballa Reiki. She is also certified in Reflexology. She is thrilled to be combining her skills of Administration and Finance with her love of Spirit and looks forward to the contribution she can make to the Edgar Cayce Center. Please join us in congratulating and supporting Kristan in her new position reporting to Board Treasurer Betty DeCandia.
