We were deeply saddened to learn of the transition, on Sept. 12, of Paul Dorogoff, who has contributed so much to our A.R.E. of NY Community over the past decades. He was 92.

Paul served in our Center in a multitude of ways, from being a “maintenance man,” to sitting on our Board. Most notably, he served as facilitator of the Prayers for Healing Group which met weekly on Thursday nights.

Paul’s profound involvement with A.R.E. of NY goes back to the original A.R.E. Center that existed in NYC from the 50s to the 70s. Paul and his wife Rosalind were members of that Center and of the Prayers for Healing Group that met there. When the original Center closed, they remained members of the prayer group, which continued to meet in a private home until the second A.R.E. of NY Center opened in 1997.

When our Center closed in 2018, Paul hosted the Prayers for Healing Group in his home, until it began to meet remotely during the pandemic. (The Prayers for Healing Group will continue. E-mail us at info@edgarcaycenyc to request prayer.)

Paul was also instrumental in starting a new Dream Study group, which has met in a variety of places over the years, including Paul’s apartment. (There are now two versions of the Dream Group, one meeting online and one meeting monthly in person. Next meeting is October 21, 2024.)

Services for Paul will take place on 9/26 in Boca Raton, Florida. Remembrances of Paul can be shared here.

We expect there may be a memorial gathering for Paul in NYC at a later date.

Please join us in prayer for Paul’s ongoing journey, for his wife Rosalind and his daughter, Priscilla.
