“Hark! The herald angels sing.” We talk and sing about angels at this season more than at any other time.
Angels spoke through Edgar Cayce in a number of readings. Most dramatic were the readings when the Archangel Michael came through.
Michael identified himself when he spoke through Cayce, as “The Lord of the Way.” Reading 262-28 stated that while the Christ IS the way, “Michael is the lord or the guard of the change that comes in every soul that seeks the way.”
When Michael spoke, usually beginning his message with, “BOW THINE HEADS, YE CHILDREN OF MEN,” those present felt an overwhelming energy in the room. Dishes could be heard rattling in the kitchen racks from the intense vibration. Tears flowed freely from everyone in the room. The message could be inspiring and comforting—or a reprimand—but it always inspired awe.
A mysterious, controversial angel who spoke through Cayce in some readings was Halaliel. The best-known messages from Halaliel described cataclysmic Earth Changes that seemed to be imminent. Whether this information was mistaken, the timing was off, or the events were mitigated by a change of consciousness in humanity, these events did not come to pass. Although described by the readings as a high source, Halaliel was evidently not the highest or most appropriate source, because the original Search For God group eventually chose not to continue to work with him as a guide. Later readings affirmed that they chose correctly.
The Cayce source did not mention demons, except in dream interpretation readings when demons appeared in seekers’ dreams. But in 1931, a seeker asked in a reading if he could contact Azul through Cayce. (Azul seems to be another name for Azazel, said to be a fallen angel responsible for introducing humans to forbidden knowledge.)
The Source responded that contacting Azul was not possible: “There are barriers between this body [Cayce] and Azul,” the Source said—and immediately Michael came through with a stern message that “there is NONE that surpasses the Son of Man in His approach to HUMAN experience in the material world!” (Reading 2897-4)
It’s good to know that Edgar Cayce was under the protection of the Lord of the Way.
