(4-week series)

Wednesdays, November 2, 9, 16 and 30: 4-5 PM
Suggested donation $10 per class
AGES 3-12. The goal is to help children experience wholeness and peace just by “being” with themselves. Meditation has been proven to improve the cognitive faculties of children, assist in their concentration and memory, and generate emotional stability.
Unlike adults, children cannot “talk themselves” out of strong emotions such as fear, anxiety, and anger. By becoming aware of how thoughts and breath patterns affect their emotions. Through meditation kids can learn to take charge of their emotions, which leads to better moods, school performance, and social skills.
Meditation has been shown to improve:
- Self-awareness
- Recognize strong emotions such as anger and become more detached from acting on them,
- Increase clarity of mind and calmness.
- Acceptance
- Increases social connection and emotional intelligence,
- Leads to greater compassion in children,
- Lessens feelings of loneliness.
- Grey matter
- Increases activity in brain areas related to emotional regulation, positive emotions, and self-control,
- Increases cortical thickness in areas related to focus and attention.
- Productivity
Class Description:
