Join us for this exceptional event with the world-renowned, trailblazing near-death studies researcher and author, P. M. H. Atwater, as she delves deeply into her most controversial work and reveals “the rest of the story” about near-death experiences, their pattern of aftereffects and implications – and their link to the larger genre of intense transformations of consciousness.
Dr. Atwater has dug deep into what really happens to children and adults who undergo this phenomenon with a candor and freshness others in the field shy away from. She had never heard of Raymond Moody when she began her work in 1978. Of all of today’s researchers, her findings are the only ones independent of the “Moody Model”, and verified in the thousands of cases she has investigated.
Dr. Atwater has further uncovered that the Oneness most experiencers talk about actually describes the journey of threshold experiences, along with a new view of spirituality and Christhood. She establishes in her book Near-Death Experiences: The Rest of the Story, that near-death states are not any type of anomaly – rather – they are part of the larger genre of intense transformations of consciousness. She details what these transformations are, why we have them, and where they lead us. This will surprise everyone. . . and speak to what is happening in the world today.
The discussion encompasses 38 years of work with nearly 4,000 adult and child experiencers, as well as the decade she spent experimenting with and studying altered and mystical states, the transformation process, and psychic phenomena – before she died three times in three months in 1977, and each time experienced a near-death episode. It was because of The Voice Like None Other, which spoke to her during her third episode, that she became a near-death researcher. This additional work brings the total of her involvement to 48 years with at least 7,000 people – of all ages and all walks of life.
This will be an interactive presentation, giving attendees ample opportunity to ask Dr. Atwater questions throughout the event, concluding with a book signing. Copies of Dr. Atwater’s book will be available for purchase in our bookstore.
