June 24 - 25: 10 am - 5 pm
Divination is generally thought of as the art of foreseeing future events or discovering hidden knowledge through the interpretation of visions or symbols. In this two-day weekend immersion, we will explore the world of symbols, signs, portents and omens and the part they play in psychic readings.
Each day of this course is rich with practical exercises and experiences that will deepen your understanding of symbols and open the door to a whole new layer of skills that will allow you to add new dimension to your readings.
Symbols: Real and Abstract
You will learn how the conscious and subconscious are united in a symbol, understand how information is delivered through the subconscious mind, learn to understand the difference between a sign, symbol, signal, omen and portent, and begin creating your own symbol dictionary.
Working with Real Symbols
Learn to work with real symbols and the world of color, and begin to see and use symbols as living things. Experiment with a variety of tools and techniques to expand your understanding of symbols.
Working with Abstract Symbols
Learn the art of tasseomancy, or tea leaf reading. Leaving the world of color behind, you will delve into symbols that may be more difficult to decipher or understand. This section deepens your ability to work with symbols and also provides a new tool to enhance your readings.
Working in the Altered State
Experiment with a slightly altered state of consciousness, or light trance state as you practice the art of scrying or scrivening. The scrying bowl or mirror is often referred to as a form of mediumship where you may receive information or see images from the spirit realm. Working with obscured or clouded imagery, you will practice the skill of free association and work with defining the speculum’s smoky images to develop your clairvoyant sense.
You will be required to bring the following items to the workshop:
- A live flower with stem and leaves (what flower are you drawn to?) on Saturday
- A tea cup with a round, light-colored interior bowl, as in the image, and saucer (available at Ikea ($2.99), Target, etc.) on Sunday
- An empty 8 x 10 picture frame, ideally with non-reflective glass (Sunday)
- A notebook and pen for note taking (both days)
Costs for the weekend for non-certification students: $295
Limited to the first 7 registrants only! Register early here!
(Participants must register by Thurs, 6/22 to ensure the receipt of mandatory class materials.)
Note: Registrants will be joining the Psychic Skills Certification program, currently in progress. No prior experience is needed. This is one of only two weekend modules belonging to the Certification program that will be open to non-certification students. Sign-up early for this great opportunity to test your divination skills and learn new ones, as well as glimpse into this powerful certification course.
